About

E. F. CASH-DUDLEY, known to her friends as Eddy, was born and raised in the Central San Joaquin Valley of California. After a career in banking and accounting, she started college at the age of 30 attending Merced Community College and California State University College Stanislaus, in Turlock, California.

She attended University of California Hasting College of the Law in San Francisco and was immediately employed by a California State Bar Certified Family Law Specialist in Modesto, California.

During her career as a family law attorney in Modesto, she built a law practice which included four attorneys (three were California State Bar Certified Family Law Specialists) and a staff of thirteen. She sold the practice in 2014 and moved full time to the Big Island.

Eddy taught community property and a survey class in family law at Lawrence Drivon School of Law in Stockton for many years. She was selected as one of the Outstanding Women of Stanislaus County and Outstanding Woman of the year by the Soroptomist Club of Modesto recognizing her community service.

Knowing that the Big Island would be the home for retirement and wanting to continue with providing legal services, Eddy took the Hawaii State Bar Examination in 2007 and was shown in to practice law in Hawaii in 2008.

As a family law attorney in Modesto, Eddy required her clients to have a will and an Advance Health Care Directive. She has always believed that these documents were an important part of providing legal services.

Seeing the need for low cost estate planning documents, Eddy started preparing wills and Advanced Health Care Directives for seniors for $100 for each instrument. In addition, she has had a very limited family law practice primarily in the South Kohala District Court in Waimea.

She still provides low cost estate planning documents: Wills, Medical Directives, and Durable Financial Powers of Attorney. She is also analyzing cases to determine if a trust is more appropriate than a will.

At this time, she is working from a home office. Appointments are by telephone, Facetime, Skype and Zoom. The documents are then emailed to the client for printing. If the client does not have the ability to print the documents, they are then mailed through the post office.

Eddy is married to an animal scientist and has three children and seven grandchildren. She lives in Kohala, Hawaii, or as she says, “Paradise.”
